A B O U T   L A U R A

Laura was born in Switzerland, raised in Connecticut, and is grateful to call NYC home. She was introduced to the healing effects of a mind-body practice during an intensive yoga retreat in Brazil during a transitional time in her life. Upon returning she decided that she wanted to teach and completed various yoga teacher trainings.  She loved teaching yoga but still felt like something was missing. When she found her way into The Class by Taryn Toomey it felt like everything finally clicked.

Laura’s grounded spirit, coupled with a Masters in Social Work and years of experience in supporting and counseling women in managing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and body image allows her to create a safe and supportive space for her students to feel what they need to feel, to move the way they need to move, and to find freedom in expressing themselves with their bodies and their voices that is without judgement. Her hope is that her class is an opportunity for people to learn that they can trust the strength and wisdom of their own heart and intuition; that they have to do the work on their own, but they don't have to do it alone; and that learning how to feel and be vulnerable is the most beautiful way to connect to themselves and others.

Her classes are engaging, thoughtful and nurturing. Laura is honored to be part of this incredible, inspiring, and beautiful community.

Outside of teaching The Class by Taryn Toomey, Laura teaches yoga privately and leads yoga for cancer classes at CancerCare.
